On October 26, 2021, Spectrum launched the NextGen Practice Management System for all of Orthopaedic and Vascular & Interventional Radiology (VIR) divisions as well as launched the NextGen Electronic Health Record for the former Ortho West practice.
Earlier this year, Spectrum announced that their Orthopaedics and Vascular Interventional Radiology divisions contracted with NextGen Healthcare to use their state-of-the-art electronic medical record (EHR) and practice management system (PM). NextGen is the market leader for EHR / PM systems.
Installation of the systems will facilitate integration, allow providers and clinicians to continue to provide excellent patient care, and improve patient experience. The systems will support Spectrum’s central services, operating rooms, and therapy centers, and will provide telehealth and patient portal services. Since our Go-live on October 26, our volumes have been at 100% or more.
There was an exceptional amount of work that contributed to the success of the NextGen launch: collaboration, patience, communication, and commitment. Preparations for the installation began almost a year to-date. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the implementation; the success of this implementation is a reflection of your hard work and unwavering commitment to improving and delivering quality care to the communities we serve.
What is included in an EHR and PM System?
Medical practices require both an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) system to operate. The EHR system holds patients’ clinical information while the PM system holds patients’ demographic and insurance information, manages patient scheduling, and tracks insurance and patient billing / payments. Practices often mix and match EHR and PM vendors based on their specific requirements.
